Preschool Ministry

Our volunteer staff of teachers, leaders and care givers at Calvary are dedicated to providing a safe and happy environment in which your preschooler can learn and grow. We believe teaching preschoolers and serving children is a privilege. The experiences that they have here in our preschool ministry are important building blocks for their faith, and can pay lifelong dividends to both the child and his/her family. It is the mission of our Preschool Ministry to share the love and care of Jesus Christ in a meaningful and effective way to your preschooler.

Preschool Ministry highlights

Partnering With Parents

Here at Calvary Baptist we understand the primary place for Biblical instruction is in the home (Deut. 6:7-9). We desire to partner with parents as they train their preschoolers in the truths of God’s Word.  After families have made the decision to make Calvary their church home, it is expected that parents of our preschoolers join in this ministry and serve at least once a month in some aspect of our Preschool Ministry. Parents are asked to go through our volunteer screening and application process and  are then placed on our volunteer schedule. The success and growth of our preschool ministry is dependent upon faithful, loving volunteers.

Sunday School

At Calvary we offer Sunday School for all ages and believe it is important to start teaching preschoolers at the earliest of age about  the foundations for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.

Extended Teaching Care

During our Traditional and Contemporary Worship Services and other church sponsored activities, we offer Extended Teaching Care. During this time, approved volunteers provide a loving environment for your preschooler filled with age-appropriate activities.

Mission Friends

During mission friends, our preschoolers learn about missionaries, their families and how they work to spread the gospel to people all over the globe. They learn about foreign lands and their cultures, and the importance of supporting missionaries through prayer, letters of encouragement and giving. Mission Friends meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6 – 6:45 pm.

Policies and Guidelines

Our ministry team has put together a set of policies and guidelines for both parents of preschoolers and our volunteer staff. These guidelines are meant to help our volunteers and our preschool parents understand their role in our preschool ministry. Please ask for a copy of these guidelines from one of our preschool staff.

Security and Safety

Your child’s security and safety is very important to us. For this reason, we have implemented guidelines and practices with our volunteers and families to insure that your child is safe and properly cared for while here at Calvary. All of our volunteers go through an application and screening process before being approved to work with our preschoolers. Our sign-in procedures provide us with your child’s information and give us your location in the event of an emergency or a need to find you. Additionally, the procedure provides a means of ensuring your child is picked up by the appropriate parent or guardian at the end of the ministry period. Children are only released to parents or guardians showing the correct matching card
